Professor Matthew Naughton
MBBS, FRACP, MD
Matthew Naughton graduated from the University of Melbourne Medical School (MBBS in 1982 and Doctorate of Medicine 1994) and completed a Royal Australian College of Physicians Fellowship in 1992. He undertook post graduate studies in “heart, lung and sleep interaction” at University of Toronto (1992-1994), a masters course in Forensic Medicine, Monash University (2017-), Australian Medical Association Impairment Assessment (1995 & 2020). He has been awarded fellowships with the American Thoracic (2018) and European Respiratory (2020) Societies. Within the Australasian Sleep Association, he is the past president (2005-2007) and awardee of their distinguished achiever award (2015).
He has a special interest in disordered sleep associated with heart failure, general respiratory disorders and medical legal aspects of sleep.
He prefers to use cycling as his main form of exercise, socialization and transportation. In addition he enjoys hiking and surfing.
